Alert settings — email or text, and who gets what

MyReviewz™ alerts notify team members when an event may require attention. Each team member chooses which alerts to receive and whether to receive them by email, by text message, or not at all.

What can trigger an alert

There are three kinds of alert, one for each part of MyReviewz. You turn each one on or off separately.

Alert When it fires
Reviewz™ A new review comes in that could use a response.
Rezolv™ A customer sends you a private message through your review link.
Surveyz™ A customer submits a survey.

Rezolv™ and Surveyz™ alerts only matter if you have those add-ons. Reviewz™ alerts are available to every subscriber.

What counts as a review that "could use a response"?

Not every review needs a nudge. A Reviewz™ alert goes out when we find a new review that has no reply from you yet and falls at or below the star rating you've told us to watch, within the recent time window you've set. Both of those are yours to adjust in Settings, where you'll see a line like "Currently flagging 3★ and below, posted in the last 30 days."

The email version lists each review with a short snippet and a link. The text version is deliberately brief: how many new reviews need attention, plus a link to open them.

Choosing email, text, or off

Each alert has a three-way switch: Off · Email · Text.

  • Email goes to the address you signed in with.
  • Text goes to the mobile number you give us when you turn it on (see below).
  • Off means you won't hear about that kind of event. You'll still see everything in the app.

Where to change yours:

  • The first time, during setup. The Set your preferences step in onboarding shows the same three switches. Your alerts start out set to Email for everything.
  • Any time after that, go to Settings → Team and find your own card (it's marked You). Your switches are under Notification preferences. Changes save right away; you'll see a small Saved confirmation.

Turning on text alerts

Text alerts are opt-in, and the opt-in is personal: you can only switch on texts for yourself, never for a teammate.

  1. Set any alert to Text.

  2. A window titled Turn on text alerts opens. Enter your mobile number.

  3. Read and tick the agreement box. The box is unchecked until you tick it, and it says, in full:

By checking this box, I agree to receive account alert text messages from MyReviewz at the number above. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

  4. Tap Turn on text alerts.

Once you've done this for one alert, switching another alert to Text later uses the same number without asking again.

Stopping text alerts

You have two ways, and either one works:

  • In the app: set the alert back to Email or Off on your Team card.
  • From your phone: reply STOP to any MyReviewz text. That stops all texts from us at the carrier level, and we update your settings to match, so the app won't keep showing Text for something that's no longer being sent. (STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT do the same thing.) You'll keep receiving those alerts by email only if you switch them back to Email in the app.

Every text we send ends with "Reply STOP to opt out." as a reminder.

Alerts for the rest of your team

Everyone you've invited has their own set of switches, and everyone can change their own. There's no single "business inbox" for alerts; each person picks what they personally want to receive.

If you're the owner, you'll see every teammate's card on the Team page and can set their alerts to Off or Email for them. That's handy if someone's gone quiet on a Rezolv™ message and you'd like the alerts to land with a different person. The one thing you can't do is turn on Text for someone else, because the text agreement has to come from the phone's owner. Hovering over a greyed-out Text button shows "Each person turns on their own text alerts."

If you're a teammate (not the owner), the Team page shows only your own card. You'll see it labeled Notifications in Settings.

Nobody's getting an alert?

The Team page warns the owner when a kind of alert is switched Off for everybody on the team. As a safety net, Settings also has a Fallback notification email under the business's own details. It's used only while no team member is set to receive alerts, so you never miss a customer message just because everyone's switches happened to be off.
